Group Volunteer Opportunities Inquiry

Thank you for your Group's interest in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of York County! Volunteers come in all shapes and sizes, races and beliefs, professions, and skills. All Habitat of York County volunteers have in common: They are the heart of our organization and critically important to furthering its mission in our community. Volunteer support plays a vital role in our efforts to develop affordable housing solutions in partnership with more families in York County. OPTION #1: NEW BUILDS AND/OR CRITICAL HOME REPAIRS

Sample tasks:

Framing
Insulation
House wrapping (doors, windows)
Siding
Painting
Miscellaneous projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

No construction experience is needed; skilled supervision is provided.
Volunteer days for new construction projects are Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays.
All-day Shift: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 am-2:00 pm (May through September).
Closed-in shoes are required. Hiking boots are a good option.
Volunteers must be 16-17 years old or older. Volunteers 16-17 years old, must have an adult 21 or older volunteering as well. We have a limited number of underage positions.
All volunteers must sign an electronic online waiver and media release (if 18 or older); Minors 16-17 years old must submit a paper copy of the waiver (with a parent’s signature) in person.
The group will need a designated coordinator to work with the York County Volunteer Department for communications with group members.
Groups are responsible for bringing lunch for ALL group volunteers including an additional construction work crew of 8.

OPTION #2: RESTORE GROUP TAKEOVER DAY

We are looking for groups to Takeover our ReStore for a half-day or full-day of volunteering opportunities. We have plenty of ongoing projects that we need help completing. If you are looking for a good rewarding volunteer experience with your company, social organization, or church group, please consider Volunteering in our ReStore. We offer one-time experiences but we LOVE groups that stay with us long-term!

SAMPLE TASKS (will depend on the ReStore needs):

Sales Associate
Repair Specialist
Receiving and Processing Specialist
Yardwork
General Cleaning and Organizing
Seasonal store reset

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Tuesday to Saturday options
4-hour or 8-hour shift (one-time experience)
2-hour weekly, bi-weekly shifts available (long-term groups)
